Dialogue - Wilda

The issues discussed at the meetings concern mostly the environmental protection - our neighbours wish to get familiar with the Environmental Management System and future plans relating to the Foundry. The meetings are focused mainly on the environmental protection issues - our neighbours want to know the Environmental Management System and plans for Foundry for the coming years.

Employees of Volkswagen Poznań Foundry, together with representatives of "Wildzianie" Association organised colourful mini-gardens in the immediate vicinity of the factory, around 4 local trees at 28 czerwca 1956 Street. The action was part of the project "My piece of garden", which received funding from "Blue Grants" program.

Meeting with the Housing Estate Council. Representatives of the Foundry presented a number of initiatives that the plant implemented or supported for the benefit of residents of Wilda district as part of social commitment. The status of plans implementation was also presented for the Foundry and of the requests made by residents during previous meetings.

Foundry of Volkswagen Poznań organized Open Days for residents of Wilda district. During the meetings, the residents will be able to see the technological process. Open Days is an initiative, which is a part of the social dialogue maintained for many years by the representatives of Volkswagen with residents of Wilda district. This dialogue provided many benefits, including a new car park for employees or reorganised supply system of the plant.

Volkswagen Poznań listens to its neighbours in Wilda. For many years, the representatives of the Volkswagen Foundry have been regularly meeting the representatives of Wilda district This dialogue with residents focuses on discussing and solving the most important issues related to the operation of the Foundry. On Wednesday, the company opened a new car park for employees of the Foundry, which will improve the quality of life of Wilda residents and our employees.

Meeting with the Housing Estate Council. During the meeting, new Foundry products were presented. An important point of the meeting was the presentation of plans for the development of the inorganic technology in the factory in order to ensure lower emission of odour and smoke during the pouring process (target for 2016 is 90% of cores prepared in this technology; currently, it is approx. 45%).

Recently, the Foundry reorganized its sand supply system. Representatives of the Foundry discussed also the issue of infrastructure: the new car park for 300 cars (expected completion: November - December 2014), a training centre (part of the facade at 28 Czerwca 1956 Street will be a part of the office space), sound protection canopy (in the gap remaining after the demolished building, construction completion: March / April 2015), dimming the lights at the entrance to Foundry (a control device has been installed for adjusting light intensity).

Meeting with representatives of the Wilda Housing Estate Council, Police, Fire Service and Municipal Police. Discussed topics included the current situation of the Foundry, plans for reconstructing the existing plant infrastructure (e.g. new gate and progress of works on the new car park), opening of a new vocational profile for future foundry employees.

Meeting of the Volkswagen Poznań Board with Wilda Housing Estate Council and Wilda residents. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Fire Service and the Municipal Police. The participants discussed the location of a new car park for employees, the method of removing waste sand from the foundry premises and a plan to build an acoustic screen and a new entrance to the Foundry. It was agreed that forklift trucks would not operate between 10 pm and 5 am and that further steps should be taken to limit the emission of onerous odour.
