Protection of Air against Contamination

One of the criterions of accomplishment of Volkswagen Poznań's investment projects is the issue of air cleanliness. The most up-to-date technologies and highly efficient equipment used for reduction of emissions minimize the environmental impacts. So as to control the solutions used, our company performs regular testing of the influence of emissions on the natural environment. The top of Paint Shop stack is equipped with a device for continuous measurement and control of volatile organic compounds. The measurements and analyses are performed every 3 seconds. This ensures that the Volkswagen Poznań factory has full control over the quantities of gases emitted to atmosphere. |
Reduction of CO2 Emissions
The environment-friendly activities performed in the factory are supported by the Energy Saving Group. With continuous analysis of the production processes the Volkswagen Poznań factories reduce the energy consumption, which has a direct effect on the emission of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. In the areas where it is possible, recuperation of heat is used. The company boiler house as well as the heating and processing equipment is supplied with natural gas – the most environ-friendly fuel available in Wielkopolska Region.
Water / Sewage Management

The concern for the purity and consumption of water is one of the production process priorities. Volkswagen Poznań accomplishes these goals thanks to using closed circuits of water, and filtration and rinsing processes. Before leaving the factory, the waste water is subject to the process of purification and remains under the continuous control of the factory laboratory. Moreover, at the area of Volkswagen Poznań factory there are 23 measuring points, with the use of which permanent monitoring of underground water is ensured. |
Chemicals Management
The car production and part casting processes are so planned that the quantities of wastes resulting from them are prevented or limited. On the other hand, in order to sensibly manage the wastes, Volkswagen Poznań implemented a Concept of Waste Management which regulates the handling of wastes, their recovery and utilization, in accordance with the principles of environment protection policy.
Volkswagen attaches great importance to recovery of recyclable wastes, such as scrap paper, plastics or non-ferrous metals. Segregation of production wastes is performed at places of their origin.

Our company uses the Concept of Chemical Substance Management which include the basic quantity of information and principles of handling chemical substances and preparations.
