The task of the logistic planning is to plan out the logistic and material processes in order to ensure deliveries for the production, taking into consideration the aspects of economy, quality, ergonomics, environment protection and customer requirements. Assistance in implementation of these processes as well as their optimization is also a task of the logistic planning department which is also responsible for the planning and optimization of logistic costs. In order to supply the plant with parts necessary for the production 700 cars per day, 10 railway carriages and 130 lorries daily arrive to our Plant No. 4. Of the total number of 800 suppliers, 60% is located in Germany. We also have suppliers from countries from the outside of Europe, such as Mexico or China.
But the most important aspect of the work of our department, which should not be overlooked, is its team. The average age of the logistic planning personnel is 30.5 years. It should be emphasized that most of the persons working in this department began their careers with VW Poznań and within the last five years they achieved such a high level of professional knowledge that it is willingly used by the other factories of Volkswagen AG. This can be confirmed by the fact that a VW Poznań employee assists the production start-up in a new factory in Russia.
