Our Success is US!

Interview: ADAM PAWLIK A._Pawlik_1.jpg

Position: Quality Assurance Department Clerk

1. When did you begin your experience with Volkswagen Poznań?

Well, it began when I was still studying at the Poznań University of Technology. I was a 3rd year student when I became interested in the Cottbus project, advertised in our university, which enabled the ablest students of the Poznań University of Technology, who knew the German language, to be granted a scholarship in Cottbus and a paid dissertation apprenticeship at Volkswagen Poznań. And I was really interested in it. So I applied for participation in this project, passed several stages of recruitment and was qualified for the scholarship.

2. Did you still have plans concerning your future at our company, when you returned from the scholarship?

Before I went to Cottbus I spent 3 months at VWP, where I had a paid apprenticeship at the Assembly department. Then I had three semesters at the Cottbus University (Machine Construction faculty) as a participant of a student Socrates-Erasmus project. When I returned, I had a dissertation apprenticeship at Volkswagen Poznań, collecting materials for my dissertation. At the same time I worked at the Assembly Department. I was employed. for six months, as a paid apprentice, then I was proposed an internship, which lasted just 3 months, and since this April I am employed as Quality Assurance Department clerk.

3. I understand that you are connected with one department...

Yes, everything began at the Assembly Department. There I completed my first projects. You could say, I was thrown into deep water. At the beginning I dealt with time analysis of assembly "bottle necks" in a project which increased the number of cars produced daily from 540 to 620. After this experience I knew that the work at Volkswagen Poznań was giving me a lot of satisfaction. I knew I would be able to develop here. The next challenges confirmed my beliefs. All the time I also cooperate with the Planning Department, Maintenance, etc.

4. What are your present responsibilities?

I am responsible for taking care of our suppliers and the quality of parts delivered, as well as issues connected with claims. I also deal with the Caddy and T5 air conditioning and heating systems...

5. By what are we distinguished against other firms?

I think such a big company as VWP gives me vast opportunities for development. I feel great satisfaction from my work, and, what is the most important, I know I can fulfil myself here. Stabilisation achieved here by working in a tight team is very important for me. And the diversity of challenges, too...

Interview: RADOSŁAW URBANIAK R._Urbaniak_4.jpg

Position: coordinator/deputy manager at Industrial Engineering Department

1. Tell me, please, about the beginning of your professional experience with VWp? Is your employment at an automotive company a coincidence or a deliberate choice?

In part it was my conscious decision. My training profile was aimed, from the very beginning, at automotive industry, starting from technical school of motor vehicle engineering through the Faculty of Machine and Vehicle Construction of the Poznań University of Technology. My professional goal was a job at a reputed company connected with automotive industry.

2. And this is why you decided to get a job at VWP?

I submitted my offer during my last year of studies and after a successful interview I began my work for VWP, at the Industrial Engineering Department, at present Production System.

3. So, how many years do you work for VWP?

Seven years passed on 2 December 2009 since my first day at VWP. I remember that date very well, since it was one of those dates that had a real impact on my life.

4. What is your appraisal of these seven years?

Above all, I appraise this time as a period of my intensive development. I began my career with VWP as a trainee, and later, year by year, I worked my way up the ladder in the hierarchy of employment, through the position of a clerk, specialist, to the present position of specialist coordinator / deputy manager. Moreover, in the autumn of 2006 I was included in the program "Talent", which offered me the possibility of further development of my knowledge, skills and competence. This is, naturally, some kind of prestige for me. At the same time, a new possibilities for development opened for me, such as, for example, possibility of working at VW Hannower, where I stayed over a few months' period in 2008. My participation in the program "Talent" is also connected with participation in various projects and trainings which allow me to acquire new knowledge and gain new qualifications.

5. Does this mean that the previously planned career path at VWP can be consistently realised?

By all means, yes. As you can see, I managed to accomplish it during the last six years, and I'm not going to content myself with this.

6. Is VWP a company which you would recommend to other people who are looking for a job?

Of course, I would. First of all, I'd like to draw your attention to the possibility of employment at one of the best and most recognisable car manufacturing companies in the world. Work for such a reputable car manufacturer may be, for many a person, fulfilment of their dreams. I also recommend the company because it offers a wide range of development possibilities both in professional and personal aspect. After all those years I've stayed with VWP I can still see new challenges, which ensures my professional development and fulfilment. Moreover, it gives me a lot of satisfaction.
