Operation Logistics
The main task of the Operation Logistics is prompt supply of the production departments with the materials and parts necessary for the production. That is why in our processes we particularly lay stress on promptness, quality and the method of delivery, taking into consideration the needs of our customer, that is the Production. Every day, approximately 130 lorries and 10 railway carriages with parts arrive to our Swarzędz Plant 4. More than one million parts and modules in 650 deliveries is transported from the Logistic Centre and Suppliers Park to our Plant 1 in Poznań-Antoninek every day. At present, approx. 600 different containers are used in our plant, both multipurpose and special containers, made from metal or plastic. As Logistics Department we are responsible for the technical condition of the containers, arrangements regarding their repairs and recycling of unusable containers. Our task is maintaining the lowest possible levels of stock of parts on the production line. In order to be able to meet this requirement, we use the advantages of the modern technology. On each of our work stations we have terminals of the concern-wide information system. Good knowledge of the system dialogues enables us to reach much farther than the limits of Poznań. In one second we can be in Hannover, Wolfsburg, Resende or Shanghai. Thanks to these electronic journeys we know the location of the lorries with our material, we care for them to be in proper loading/unloading point in proper time.
We actively participate in the Continuous Improvement Process, and as a result of individual CIP proposals we saved more than PLN 2 million in 2007.
