Special Car Body Plant
The main objective of the Volkswagen Poznań Special Car Body Plant is adapting the base cars to customer individual requirements. Very often, the standard offer for equipment is insufficient for our customers, and in order to meet the customer requirements it is necessary to install special car body on the basic car. On customer request, special cars are designed and built here on the basis of Caddy, Caddy Maxi and Transporter T5. We have both individual and collective customers, such a s the postal service, police or army.
The first special car bodies on the basis of Transporter T5 were developed in the Poznań factory as early as in 1996. A milestone in the existence of Special Car Body Division in Poznań was launching a series production of the Caddy and T5 models in 2003. From that moment on we were able to take advantage of the availability of basic vehicles and design and produce car bodies specially adjusted to the individual needs of our customers. This is how Caddy for the German post service, Tramper and Caddy with CNG fuelled engine ware developed.
Today, our production is located in our Swarzędz factory. We have at our disposal almost 5 thousand square metres of production area, equipped with modern work stations.
