Environment-friendly Activities
Environment-friendly activities of Volkswagen Poznań is not only responsible approach to the production processes. Our company also initiates and supports activities carried out in cooperation with and for the benefit of the local community. We actively cooperate with the civic authorities.
Volkswagen is desirous of creating and promoting technologies which enable harmonious coexistence of natural environment and industry. We understand the needs and expectations of organisations committed to protection of natural environment and we effectively cooperate with such organisations.
The results of our activities can be found hereunder.
Clean Up the World

One of the actions realised by Volkswagen Poznań was cleaning the forest areas neighbouring with the factory carried out by our employees in cooperation with children from the primary schools of Poznań. |
COP14 Climate Conference
Volkswagen Poznań was present at the Climate Conference held in December. The participants of the conference used a fleet of Volkswagen Caddy Maxi cars fuelled with natural gas.
Thanks to the photograph exhibition held at the premises of Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie (Poznan International Fair) titled "Volkswagen Poznań as an environment-friendly enterprise", organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, the conference participants had an opportunity to familiarize with the environmental activities of VWP.
Climate and Environment Year in Poznań (2008)

Volkswagen Poznań actively participated in the celebration of the Climate and Environment Year. The actions taken at that time were aimed at promoting environment-friendly attitudes. Through such actions Volkswagen Poznań informed among others its employees' of the scale of threats resulting from changes in the natural environment and encouraged them to undertaking preventive actions. |
The fiftieth anniversary of Volkswagen Poznań was a good opportunity to promote and perform environmental actions. The guests invited to the celebration of the fifteenth anniversary could learn about the importance of environment protection from a brochure “Environment Protection at Volkswagen Poznań”, especially issued on that occasion.
The organisation of the fifteenth anniversary of Volkswagen Poznań was itself an environmental challenge which was managed by the employees of Volkswagen Poznań very well. The segregated waste materials in total quantity of 4250 kg was collected in the waste containers. Also, an action of exchanging disposable plastic bags to reusable cotton bags was carried out with great interest of the public. More than 10,000 "green" bags distributed to the public tells its own tale.
Conference “Industry in view of new challenges of climate and environment protection”
Volkswagen Poznań also participated in the 12th International Ecological Convention during the POLEKO Fair, during which a special conference titled "Industry in view of new challenges of climate and environment protection" was organised. Volkswagen was one of the exhibitors at the conference, and presented a brochure and a photograph exhibition titled "Environment protection at Volkswagen Poznań Sp. z o.o".
Ecology Talks in Schools

Representatives of Volkswagen Poznań in cooperation with the Department of Municipal Services Management and Housing of the Municipal Office of Poznań carried out talks on environment protection in the primary schools of Poznań. During these meetings with pupils, on 27 and 28 November 2008, subjects related with segregation and proper handling of waste materials as well as environment protection at VWP were discussed. Our company also organised an art competition for the pupils, titled "Segregation of waste materials at schools". |
